Spray Tan Aftercare

Spray Tan Aftercare Instructions

For optimal results and increased longevity please adhere to the following:

Wear SPF and Manage Your Sun Exposure!

Be diligent about managing your sun exposure!  Having a tan can give an individual a false sense of protection from the sun.  Don’t be fooled, remember, a spray tan DOES NOT protect your skin from the harmful ultraviolet rays that cause aging, burning, and sometimes cancer.  It is recommended that you protect your skin by managing your sun exposure, applying sunscreen repeatedly, wearing protective clothing and accessories such as a hat and sunglasses, as well as seeking shade whenever possible.

Critical Setting Time:

In order for your tan to develop and set properly avoid the following for at least 12 hours: showering or bathing, swimming in chemically treated pools, sweating, humidity (hot yoga and saunas), moisturizing, and exfoliating.

Avoid rubbing, patting, or touching your tan.  Doing so before your tan is fully dry and developed could stain your palms and/or fingertips as well as affect the appearance of your tan’s evenness.

Shower, Gently Pat Dry, and Moisturize

After 12 hours, take a brief warm shower to rinse off the tan. (It is normal to see bronzer wash away from your skin in the shower, rest assured your developed tan will remain.) Use Shower Glow DHA-Infused Body Wash to boost your tan while you shower! A carefully measured dose of DHA extends your radiant sunless glow by up to three days! Leaves your skin feeling clean, soft, and refreshed.

Did You Know…
Most shower soaps and body washes fade a sunless tan. With Shower Glow you can wash with the confidence that your spray tan investment is protected. This non-drying foaming cleanser is formulated with all-natural, plant-derived ingredients. It gently lifts dirt and removes surface impurities. For facial and body use.

How to Use:
Moisten skin with water, then massage a small amount onto dampened skin. Lather thoroughly and rinse completely with warm water and pat dry. The Shower Glow does not require gloves—it will not result in any tanning of the palms.

Once you’ve showered, gently pat yourself dry with a towel.

When dry apply Skin Glow Light Tan Extender or Velvet Soft Moisturizing Crème repeatedly, to extend the life of your dazzling tan.

Did You Know…
Did you know that not all moisturizers are designed for sunless spray tanning? While moisturizing is a critical step to maintaining a sunless tan, many great moisturizers contain ingredients that will actually degrade the tan fast, leading to uneven fading.

Skin Glow Light Tan Extender and Velvet Soft Moisturizing Crème are specifically designed for use with sunless tanning. Skin Glow Light Tan Extender contains DHA and will help extend the life of your tan and help it to fade evenly.

Velvet Soft Moisturizing Crème has been tested and proven to not only hydrate the skin, but also to prevent premature fading of a spray tan. The luxurious blend of oils imbues your skin with silky softness without any oily or sticky feeling.

Skin Glow Light Tan Extender and Velvet Soft Moisturizing Crème are infused with Vitamins A & E, are pH-balanced, and are designed for all skin types. Both aftercare products are hypoallergenic and paraben-free.

Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate!

A spray tan can leave your skin feeling drier than usual. Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and looking radiant. Hydrated moisturized skin will help increase the longevity of your tan and will help it fade evenly.

What to Avoid:

Your tan should last about five to seven days depending on how much you subject it to showering, shaving, sweating, working out, exfoliating, saunas, and humidity.

The following items have been known to compromise a spray tan and should therefore be avoided: bandages, adhesives, facial pore strips, facial masks and scrubs, products with alpha and beta hydroxy acid ingredients, hair removal creams, shaving, waxing, and sweating.

Following all of the recommended pre and post care instructions does not guarantee results.  Spray tan results vary.
